The Walker Academy is a fully accredited vocational and career training institution designed to serve students aged 16 to 24. Our programs provide industry- standard instruction, hands-on training, and pathways to certification and employment in high demand fields.
ðģ Culinary Arts Program
Master the art of cooking and kitchen management with hands-on experience from seasoned professionals.
Duration: 2-3 Years
Certifications: ServSafe Food Handler (Year 2), ServSafe Manager Certification (Year 3)
Overview: Hands-on culinary training in food safety, kitchen operations, nutrition, baking, cooking techniques, and menu planning. Includes restaurant simulation and catering projects.
Age Range: 16-24
âïļ Barbering Program
Introduce students to the barbering profession, including its history, professional standards, safety, and state-specific laws.
Duration: 2 Years (6 Semesters)
Certification: Florida Barber License
Overview: Includes haircutting, shaving, grooming, chemical services, and barber operations.
Age Range: 16-24
ðâïļ Cosmetology Program
Explore the world of beauty through hair styling, skincare, and makeup techniques.
Duration: 2 Years (6 Semesters)
Certification: Florida Cosmetology License
Overview: Covers hair design, nail technology, skin care, and salon management.

ðĶ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Begin your journey in healthcare with foundational skills and real-world clinical training.
Duration: 16 Weeks
Certification: Florida CNA License (via Prometric Exam)
Overview: Provides training in patient care, vital signs, clinical skills, and state board prep.
Age Range: 17-24
ð GED Preparation Program
Complete your high school education and prepare for future academic or career opportunities.
Duration: 16 Weeks (extendable as needed)
Certification: Florida High School Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Overview: Academic prep in math, science, language arts, and social studies with testing strategies.

ð Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Train for a rewarding career in transportation and logistics with our CDL certification program.
Duration: 10-12 Weeks
Certification: CDL Class B License + CLP
Overview: Hands-on training in tractor-trailer operation, safety, and federal DOT requirements.
Age Range: 18-24

Learn the fundamentals of digital media, branding, and visual communication using industry-standard tools.
Duration: 1 Year (4 Quarters)
Certification: Adobe Certified Professional (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Overview: Digital design training with a focus on branding, layout, visual storytelling, and portfolio development.
ð Transportation and Logistics Program
Understand the fast-growing field of supply chain management, shipping, and freight coordination.
Duration: 8-12 Months
Certifications: OSHA 10, Forklift Operator License, TWIC Credential

Overview: Focuses on warehouse operations, freight brokerage, dispatching, intermodal transport, and port security.
ð§ Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT - Entry-Level)

Duration: 6–8 Months
Certifications: Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) – Entry Level
Age Range: 18–24
Overview: This program prepares students to work in behavioral health settings such as recovery centers, group homes, or psychiatric facilities. Training includes client observation, crisis intervention, documentation, ethics, and understanding substance abuse, trauma, and co-occurring disorders.
ðĒļ Phlebotomy Program
Gain hands-on skills in collecting and processing blood specimens for clinical labs and hospitals.
Duration: 3–4 Months
Certifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Age Range: 17–24
Overview: The Phlebotomy program trains students in venipuncture, specimen handling, patient interaction, safety protocols, and lab processing. With a strong emphasis on professionalism and care, students graduate equipped to work in hospitals, labs, and blood donation centers.

Mentorship and Support Services:
Our goal is to provide not only training but also comprehensive support to ensure that our students can successfully transition into the workforce or continue their education. Walker Academy’s mentorship program pairs students with experienced professionals who guide them through career exploration, job searches, scholarship applications, and other personal and professional challenges.
Key services include:
- Job Search Assistance: Help students develop resumes, interview skills, and job search strategies to secure their first job or advance in their chosen field.
- Scholarship & Financial Aid Support: Assist students in finding financial resources for their education, whether through scholarships, grants, or financial aid programs.
- College Admissions & Career Development: Provide guidance on applying for college, vocational schools, or apprenticeships, and help students understand their options for career growth and further education.
- Workforce Readiness & Entrepreneurship: Teach soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, and provide resources for students interested in starting their own businesses.
